Control in relationships

I don't understand why people in relationships try to control the other person involved.  That's a form of distrust.  Let me tell you people something. You CANNOT control another grown person.  If they are going to do something there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it.  Let that person be! If you have to control them it means that you can't trust them, and don't need them in your life.
